Chef Clay
Sugar Kane Black&White

Collaboration with Lorenzo Paganelli

porcelain, transparent glaze

ø8x10 cm

Chef Clay is a research project of 3D printed ceramic applied to one of the most antique traditions: cooking tools and tableware. Chef Clay borns from the collaboration between the ceramist Cristina D’Alberto, the designer/maker Lorenzo Paganelli and chefs that want to experiment new formulas with food in relation with its container. This brand new way of modeling clay offers new possibilities in shapes, but introduces new limits and problems that, with our research work, we are exploring. Exploiting the typical stratification of the 3d printing process and the more traditional ways of glazing and finishing, new visual and tactile textures are created for one of the most important and pleasant experiences in life: food.
